Last Saturday was the much-anticipated OffBeat Live Shoreditch Fashion Show 2013 (in association with Made in Shoreditch magazine & Vivid Fashion Group) and we RF girls were absolutely obnoxious with excitement. The event was held in an airy warehouse, which was decorated with amazing fashion-inspired works of art; we were particularly charmed by a Romeo + Juliet piece and a Dom and Ink top-knot illustration! Several musicians took to the stage, including our favorite of the night, Brixton-made band The Thirst  (who we suspect could seriously whip our arses at Guitar Hero). Attendees were dressed in their finest quirky pieces -- we noticed that statement necklaces featured heavily on girls and boys(!) and it really was wonderful gaining inspiration from fellow fashion-obsessed individuals and chatting with up-and-coming designers, artists and bloggers.

In our next post, coming later this week, we will be featuring the fabulous ladies we met and after that it will be all about the boys. Stay tuned!

High Heels Get Low

Low Heels Trend
1. YSL Ingenue Pumps (similar here) 2. Zara Studded Slingback 3. J.Crew Janey Patent Flats 4. Jeffrey Campbell Affair Sandal 5. Zara Metallic Sandals 6. Clarks Sharna Balcony Shoe

We Remotely Fashion females have a love-hate relationship with most heels. We love how heels make our legs more unicorn-like, because we are trying in vain to look like human-versions of The Last Unicorn. On the other hand, we are admittedly clumsy, clutzy and easily lost (meaning we end up walking way more than we planned). Fortunately the fashion gods have smized upon us and low heels were a runway regular for Spring 2013 (Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent, and Nicholas Kirkwood, to name a few).

But I needed to see my patron saint Alexa Chung rocking her YSL Ingenue pumps in order to quell my trepidation. We think the key to keeping this style from going matronly is to look for dainty ankle straps as well as futuristic colors and textures. Metallics aren't just for F/W, we think silver or rose gold would pair perfectly with a pastel-colored outfit. Basic black is also sure to look very classy and feminine and would look lovely with a bodycon midi-dress or a pair of tailored trousers. From the window to the wall, we are about to get low! How about you?

Kiki's look of the day

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice-cream

Reluctant to anger Thor and the gang, the following comes with our fingers tightly crossed and a piece of wood very much to hand. But just on the off chance that the change in weather isn't a red herring, and spring truly has sprung, here is a wishlist of lactose free ice-creams shades.

School Spirit!

Siobhan's oufit: Sweater - Forever 21, Skirt - Forever 21, Blazer - Urban Outfitters, Socks - Topshop, Ankle boots - H&M, Bracelet - Gift, Collar necklace - Accessorize
Anou's outfit: T-shirt - Crooks & Castle, Letterman Jacket - 10 Deep, Maroon Trousers - Topman, Shoes - Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtip, Watch - Nixon Timeteller

Before going out on a windy, rainy night, I realized that Anou and I had a 'theme' going on. With his Letterman jacket and my pleated skirt and blazer we had some sort of Public vs. Private school mash-up going on. Raindrops seem to have invaded our photography but the weather was remarkably warmer today. Very excited to don some more springy styles shortly!
